Some of you may wonder where I can stand on this odd stuff as this title clashes with the original “ No pain, no gain ”. Of course, I have my own reasons to state it firmly in good faith If you still doubt it, just take a look back at the first meeting of English Club
Like you, freshmen, we’re also fresh blood hopefully to bring in winds of positive changes in EC We all pulled our weight and went to any great lengths to provide any participants in the meeting the opportunity to speak up After all intensive preparations, we uneasily waited for the so-called kick-off. We once feared the worst : if everything went haywire if not any of you bothered to show up … 1, 2, then 3, 4, 5 … of you appeared The turnout wasn’t as expected but to us, that was more than incentive
Warm-up questions didn’t go off well ( though I was impressed by some brilliant answers from you ) but later on, you seemed to catch the mood and everything went smoothly according to plan Two MCs accidentally on purpose talked at the very least and I deemed all of you won a chance to express yourself ( not to say, competed for the micro ^^ )
After all, we still had mistakes, some silly ones that some of you didn’t hesitate to point out, and frankly, that was highly appreciated. We drew something from our errors and surely, you did, too
Above all, I bet you did benefit in one way or another then your time didn’t go down the drain ( hence you lost nothing ^^ ). If you say you gained nothing, for God’s sake, though I know that’s not the right thing to say, we’re devastated

ps: We're open to your suggestions for the next meeting, which is promisingly a real buzz and guess what this time, it'll be for freeeeeeeeeeee
Just wait and see
How much were you satisfied with our last meeting ???
